Ian Poulter Confident on Ryder Cup

The man Ian Poulter might not have won any major event or game but has a record in Ryder Cup that can still out-pass most of the players who have their names up in the hall of fame. Ian has played 15 matches in between 2004 and 2012 out of which he has won 12 matches. He almost has a winning percentage of 80% which the others are not even close to.

Ian has a very different style of his own that is intense on the greens and tees that goes well with the Ryder Cup. There are people namely Jim Furyk who does not approve his style much. He has lately said that Ian tends to excite his team because of his personality which was good in a way but has also mentioned that without naming some players have been violating the whole spirit of Ryder Cup.

He has been pointing out that in the initial days when someone won they would have been together and congratulate them on having played well. But now the winning side just has to go and party as if they were insulting the losing side for having lost. However, Ian has not taken anything too personally. He said that according to him whatever he does is just a portrayal of his usual self and finds nothing wrong in it. He has said that it is just a way how he expresses which has been misinterpreted as being a portrayal of emotion for something that means a lot.

Poulter believes that when playing for the Ryder Cup each and every putt is like winning the tournament and that he loves being a part of the team. He says that he is more of a team player and likes supporting people and when he sees the intensity post match he too finds it awkward.

Angel Cabrera

Angel Cabrera, nickname El Pato, is an Argentine professional golfer who plies his trade both in the European Tour and PGA Tour. He is the only Argentine to win the US Open in 2007 and the Masters in 2009.

Cabrera was born in Cordoba, Argentina and became a caddy at the Cordoba Country Club at the age of 10 where he learnt to play golf competing against other caddies for money. He turned professional at the age of twenty but failed in his first three attempts to qualify for the European Tour. But in his fourth attempt in 1995 he qualified for the membership of the European Tour in 1996.

He won his first professional tournament in Latin America in 1995 and his first European Tour win came at the 2001 Argentine Open. Angel won the BMW Championship in 2005 which is the most prestigious tournament on the European Tour outside the majors and the World Golf Championships and achieved a highest of 9th in the Official World Golf Ranking on 2nd October 2005.

Angel Cabrera won his first major championship by winning the 2007 US Open finishing the tournament at 5-over and topped runners up Tiger Woods and Jim Furyk by one stroke. He was the 2nd Argentine to win a major after Roberto De Vicenzo who won the British Open in 1967. In 2009 Cabrera won the Masters Tournament after winning a three-way sudden-death playoff against Chad Campbell and Kenny Perry. He became the lowest ranked player to win the Masters having been ranked 69th before the start of the tournament. At the 2013 Masters Cabrera was again in contention to win the Green Jacket where he lost to Australian Adam Scott in the playoffs.

Angel Cabrera along with Tiger Woods is the two active PGA Tour members who have won the  U.S. Open and the Masters.

Tiger Woods To Make An Appearance On The Tonight Show

The golfing superstar- Tiger Woods is going to make an appearance on the Tonight Show along with the rising star- Rory Mcilroy on the 18th of August, 2014 (Monday). They both are also going to make an appearance for Nike at the Liberty National (New Jersey) on the same day.

Surprisingly both the golf players are moving in different directions. Rory Mcilroy is at the peak of his golfing career as he has won his 4th major championship by winning the PGA Championship on Sunday (10th of August, 2014). On the other hand, Tiger Woods is struggling in his career because of injuries and personal problems.

Both of them became friends some years back when they had got the opportunity to compete against each other on the golf course. Mcilroy and Woods are often compared to each other and people are predicting that Mcilroy might be the apparent heir to Woods in the near future.

The Tonight Show is a show hosted by the golf enthusiast- Jimmy Fallon who had recently made fun of many of the golf players participating in the PGA Championships including Mcilroy and Woods on his show. Fallon has also been featured on the cover of Golf Digest.

This is the second time that Tiger Woods is going to be a part of the Tonight Show. Rory Mcilroy however is going to be a part of the show for the very first time.

Some possible things that might be discussed in the Tonight Show on Monday are: It seems golf does not need Tiger Woods anymore, the chaotic end of the tournament at Valhalla golf club, Rory’s work out regime compared to Woods’ work out regime, Woods future plans and so on.

Fans all over the world are eagerly waiting for the joint appearance of Mcilroy and Woods on the Tonight Show.
