Ian Poulter has been listed as one of the four English players among the world’s top 10 golf players list. Alongside him are Luke Donald, Lee Westwood and Justin Rose. But if he can make it to winning World Golf Championship-Cadillac Championship this week, then he would rise way above the rest. It has been twelve years since he first played on the European Tour and had failed to win only once. With such a stunning record, Poulter is at ease about giving his best shot yet again. His best performance so far has been at the Ryder Cup.
Last Saturday afternoon, Ian Poulter scored the perfect birdies in all the five holes and then beat Webb Simpson in the singles to make up for the four points that he was lacking in. Besides scoring points for his own and earning the position of top scorer, he has had excellent contribution to his team. Poulter is now in the team of nine players that would play in the next Ryder Cup, as the trump card alongside the other wildcard picks. He has been noted for getting into the air of his stardom. Once he stated that it was only between Tiger Woods’ and him that the best player judgement could be done.
The previous year has gone really good for Ian Poulter. He won the 2012 HSBC Championship and the field where he won the tour was really a tough one. Throughout his career, he has bagged six top ten finishes two of which are include the British Open. If someone wanted to witness flawless golf then one should have seen him at Birkdale in 2008 where he delivered a an outstanding golf playing despite the bad weather. Now Ian’s primary concern is WGC and he will leave no stone unturned to get the best out of it.
